Task?
  • Background to Share With Students
    • All parts of matter have kinetic energy. The kinetic energy of the particles can change speed, resulting in phase change. The three states of matter on Earth are solid, liquid, and gas. During this module, you will read texts on states of matter, kinetic energy, and particles and write an informational essay explaining the motion of the particles through the states of matter.

      After researching textbook sources on the states of matter, kinetic energy, and particles, write an essay that defines “kinetic energy” and explains what happens to water when its particles lose and gain energy. Support your discussion with evidence from your research.
